Marrington’s Shelbee Cupp is Honored with the Lorraine Roumillat Literacy Grant Award

Marrington Elementary School is proud to announce that Ms. Shelbee Cupp has been received the Lorraine Roumillat Literacy Grant award. This award is sponsored by the Berkeley Reading Council and open to first year teachers in the school district. Ms. Cupp submitted an application in which she wrote about the person who had most influenced or fostered her love of reading. Additionally, Ms. Cupp explained how she would use the $100 grant to promote literacy in her classroom. Ms. Cupp reported that she not only has a love for reading, but also a love for learning. Her goal is to enable her students to develop these same passions. Shelbee Cupp truly embodies Marrington’s theme for the 2013-2014 school year: “Boosting Learners, Building Leaders!”
