He met his wife as a contractor with FEMA in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. The couple moved to Goose Creek and have since raised their two sons in the Liberty Hall Plantation subdivision.

The family picked Goose Creek for the same reason many young couples have started filling its neighborhoods: the best of both worlds.

"You don't have the hustle and bustle of a big city," he said. "We have access to a city, but we can go home to a quiet neighborhood."

He has always been interested in serving the community, and Moore said he is committed to preserving the quality and character of the city.

Moore noted the Liberty Hall area has been underrepresented on council and that council could benefit from the perspective of a young father.

"I give City Council credit for ensuring my children have a wonderful place to grow up," he said. "I see a need to transition to future leaders."

Moore said important issues include additional fire stations and police staffing, as well as business growth, planning (including the extension of Henry Brown Boulevard) and the protection of Crowfield Golf and Country Club.
