"We liked that it was a nice friendly home-style neighborhood," Grisham said. "People were friendly and outgoing."
Grisham retired last March as a senior patrol sergeant. He became interested in real estate when he moved to Goose Creek, and now works as a Realtor at Carolina One Real Estate in Crowfield.

"Before I retired from the police department, I was paying attention to what was going on, following different things," he said. "I told my wife, I think I'd like to run for Goose Creek City Council."
One issue where Grisham said he can take a leadership role is in monitoring growth and development. "Being in the real estate industry, it gives me an insight into what is going on," he said.
Grisham is looking forward to introducing himself to voters and learning the needs of the community.
"When I start putting signs up, I'm sure I'll be getting calls and people will be voicing their needs," he said. "They need someone to talk to and I want to be that person."
