Mugshots: Accused in Berkeley County Slayings

Sheriff's Office made arrests Saturday in shooting deaths of Dana Woods and June Guerry.

Two men will face a bond hearing Sunday night in the shooting deaths of two Berkeley County women last week.

Caleb Brad Matlock, 23, of 132 Regent Drive, Summerville, and Arthur Ray Chavis, 23, of 1959 Highway 402, Cordesville, were taken into custody Saturday afternoon.

Each man faces two murder charges, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.

Dana Woods, 18, and June Guerry, 22, were last seen by family members late Sunday night. Soon after a search began early in the week, Woods' car was found burnt in the Francis Marion National Forest.

Investigators processing the car found Woods body nearby. An autopsy determined she had died from gunshot wounds. Guerry's body was later found, 10 miles from the scene in Alvin. She was also dead from gunshot wounds, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.
