The Medical University of South Carolina Children's Hospital has opened an after hours clinic off of University Boulevard.
The hospital system cut the ribbon on the new facility late last week. According to a release, the office at 2750 Dantzler Drive offers a child-friendly environment for parents who may not be able to reach their normal doctor or if there's an injury that doesn't warrant an emergency room visit.
The hospital expects the facility will offer a shorter wait time than the average ER visit, and at a reduced cost.
The clinic is be open from 4-10 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 7 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. No appointment necessary.
