North Charleston Officer Shot on Rivers Avenue
Gunman on the lose after incident early Wednesday.

An unidentified North Charleston Police officer was shot early Wednesday, according to several reports, but suffered only minor injuries after the bullet hit his protective vest.
Live 5 News has footage from the search for the shooting suspect, noting dozens of officers searched the Rivers Avenue area near Trident Technical College and back towards Interstate 26.
The Post and Courier spoke with police spokesman Spencer Pryor, who said the officer told dispatchers he was making contact "with a subject" before reporting that he'd been shot.
