
Edwin Benton "Ben" Boyd, 65, of Goose Creek passed away August 3, 2012, surrounded by his family.
Born in Florence, S.C., he was the son of the late William Miller and Susan Edmee' Boyd and husband to Krystal Call Boyd. He attended the University of South Carolina and received a bachelor’s degree from Baptist College and his doctorate of optometry from Southern College of Optometry, Memphis, Tenn. While in his last year of Southern College of Optometry, Ben joined the United States Air Force. He enjoyed golf, tennis, hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Ben was an avid Carolina Gamecocks fan.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Krystal Call Boyd, three children, Katie Boyd of Columbia, William Boyd of Goose Creek, Sadie Lynne Boyd of Goose Creek, sister, Edmee’ G. "Jerri" Boyd of Varnville, his little man, Scrappy. He is also survived by many extended family members.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. The family will receive friends prior from 2:00until 3:00 p.m.
Burial will be in Beaufort National Cemetery on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at 11:00 a.m.

Etta "Donna" Solveig Olsen Perez, 79, of Summerville, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at her home.
Born in Philadelphia, Penn., she was the daughter of the late G. Valdemar Olsen and Martha Buist Harleston and widow of John Perez Sr.
Mrs. Perez was a homemaker and enjoyed writing poetry in her spare time. Etta was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
She is survived by; three sons, John Perez Jr., Joseph A. Perez, and Daniel R. Perez; four daughters, Jane Perez Geddings, Ramona Perez Surprenant, Marty Perez Crabtree, and Mia Perez Owens; 27 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Smoak, who was 6 when she went to be with Jehovah.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at 11 a.m. Graveside services will immediately follow at First Baptist Church of Ravenel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Amedysis Hospice Care, 1027 Physicians Drive #240, Charleston, SC 29414.
"But they that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31. Donna endured to the end. As she would always tell her children and grandchildren "consider yourself hugged!"
