
Col. Gary Ray Addison (Ret. U.S. Army), 61, of Goose Creek, husband to Dominique Fontaine Addison, passed away August 9, 2012.
Born in Norton, Va., he was the son of the late Guy and Frances Collins Addison. He received his Bachelor's Degree from East Tennessee State University and his Master's Degree from Florida Institute of Technology. After graduation from ETSU he joined to United States Army,where he retired after 30 years as a Colonel, serving during Desert Storm and the Bosnian Conflict. Mr. Addison moved to Goose Creek to work as a contractor for Dynacorp at the Charleston Naval Weapon Station. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Atlanta Braves and coached basketball for the Goose Creek Recreation.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Dominique Addison; four sons, Steve Addison of Norton, Va., Jonathan Addison, Christopher Addison and Carlton Addison, all of Goose Creek; daughter, Anna Michelle White of Norton, Va.; brother, Ronnie Addison of Kentucky and sister, Annette Clough of Virginia.

Funeral service were held Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 in All Saints Chapel, Charleston Naval Weapon Station. Burial was at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Norton, Va.

Naomi G. Gibson, 75 of Goose Creek, died peacefully at her residence. She was born March 29, 1937, in Marlinton, W.Va., to the late Philip and Verna (Gay) Gibson. She was the widow of William Sterl "Hoot" Gibson and the proud mother of five children including; Floyd Gibson and his wife, Liz of Charleston, Lloyd Gibson and his wife, Rena of Florida, Boyd Gibson of Goose Creek, Sandy Ackerman and her husband Chris of Goose Creek, and Randy Gibson and his wife, Tammy of Jedburg, 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, and a sister, Gatha Friel and her husband, Ernie, of Marlinton, W.Va.
Naomi retired in 1986 after many years as a secretary at Goose Creek High School and was previously an active member of the Goose Creek Woman's and the Senior's Bowling Leagues.
Family and friends attended her Memorial Service Aug. 8, 2012, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel.
