Obituary: Alice DeBoard

Alice Margaret DeBoard, 80, of Goose Creek, wife to Homer DeBoard, passed away Sept. 30, 2012.

Born in Hearne, Texas, she was the daughter of the late S.J. and Iva Griffin. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Mrs. DeBoard enjoyed reading, birdwatching, puzzles and talking on the phone. She loved being able to raise her family and spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.

She is survived by her husband, Homer DeBoard, three sons, Roger Howell of Norfolk, Va., Michael Howell of Las Vegas, and John DeBoard and wife Pamela of Goose Creek; two daughters, Delilah Register and husband Rodney of Virginia Beach, Va., and Faye Swem and husband Roy of Virginia Beach, Va. Mrs. DeBoard is also survived by nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at 3 p.m. in Midway Baptist Church, 506 St. James Ave.

The family will receive friends prior to service from 2-3 p.m. in the church.
