Obituary: Kirsten Mimms, Stratford High Senior

Kirsten Lane Mimms, 17, of Ladson, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012. 

Kirsten was born May 1, 1995, in Charleston, a daughter to Rusty and Linda Lane Mimms. 

Kirsten was a senior at Stratford High School. She was employed at Palmetto Moon. During her high school career she was very involved in the drama club, the soccer team, cheerleading and chorus. She loved the water, boating and fishing with her dad, and shopping with her mom. She also loved the USC Gamecocks. 

Her family remembers her as an exuberant, independent, happy and funny young lady. She was a "people person." She loved her music and she loved to dance.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Phyllis Lane.
Survivors include her parents, Rusty and Linda Mimms of Ladson; one brother, Dylan Mimms of the home; paternal grandparents, Billy Mimms of Hanahan, Carolyn McGuire and her husband Jimmy of Ridgeway, SC; maternal grandfather, Jim Lane and his wife Sherry of Orangeburg, SC; paternal uncle, Jeff Mimms and his wife Teresa of Hanahan, SC; maternal uncle, Ken Lane and his wife Crystal of Orangeburg, SC and a host of friends , cousins, and a close knit extended family.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at Oakley Road Church of God, 109 Oakley Rd., Moncks Corner, SC 29461.

Roxie Shore will facilitate the service. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund in her memory. Arrangements for that fund are forthcoming.
