Obituary: Warren "Monte" May

Warren Monte May, 62, of Summerville, husband of Debby May, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012. Monte was born to the late Archie and Loretta May in July 1950 in Charleston.Â
Monte graduated from Berkeley High School in 1969. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy as an electrician from 1970-1974 and served aboard two destroyers in Norfolk, Va., and Charleston. He entered the Charleston Naval Shipyard in April 1974 as an Apprentice Pipefitter and retired as a Nuclear Ship Scheduler in April 1995. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching Clemson football and spending time with family and friends.Â
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debby and his granddaughter, Jessica of the home; son, Brian (Lori) and granddaughter, Lily of North Charleston; son, Mike of Summerville; brother, Bill May (Robin) of Moncks Corner; sister, Kathy Almodovar (Guy) of Moncks Corner; brother Travis May (Carolyn) of Summerville; brother-in-law, Bill Constable (Mary) of Wisconsin; and sisters-in-law, Linda Hearn (Mark) of Alabama and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Donald, sister, Rhonda, and his in-laws, Larry and Marie Constable.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel, 869 St. James Ave. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens.Â
The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
