Pedestrians Killed on Red Bank Road: Readers React
Two fatalities in less than a week has readers sounding off.

A pedestrian was killed early Saturday morning while in the roadway on Red Bank Road. The driver of the vehicle involved was not injured and will not face charges. According to the Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was allegedly illegally in the road.
It was the second pedestrian fatality on Red Bank Road in the past week. A Goose Creek man died early Sunday after he was struck by a car on Dec. 8.

"I see pedestrians running across this road all the time — including at night — along with bikers who ride with NO lights or reflective gear at night," wrote Shannon. "These [quite foolish] people are almost impossible for drivers to see and I have been thankful not to hit them on many occasions."
She called for more crosswalks and sidewalks. "If there are no safe alternatives to jaywalking and nigh-time biking, even good people will be forced into it," Shannon wrote.

"I was passing there literally one minute before this happened," wrote Nicole. "Let me say where this guy was walking across the street was very dark! … Why people try to cross the road like that is unknown to me."
