Pies-On Pizza Closed After 14 Years
Restaurant at important corner of downtown revitalization closed.
Pies-On Pizza is closed.
The front windows, well known for advertising the Goose Creek restaurant's Italian fare, are blank. Hints of a popular eatery are still on the walls, but it's mostly a vacant storefront.
All that's left is a hand-written note on the door:

"The off-white and black checkered linoleum floors, wooden S-shaped booths, tables with red vinyl chairs and mural of the Brooklyn bridge on the wall conjured up my idea of what a New York-style pizzeria would have looked like 20 years ago," she said.
At the corner of the Shannon Park shopping center, Pies-On was on the edge of an important effort to redevelop downtown Goose Creek.
Late last year, the city cut the ribbon on a Central Avenue makeover in hopes of attracting more business, as well as free Wi-Fi access in the area to attract more businesses.
Pies-On's exit leaves an important hole that needs to be filled for a vibrant downtown scene.
