Police cadets, excited about the Bike-A-Thon that benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, are determined to make this ride a community party. "The general plan is to have a good time while helping a wonderful group of children and families counting on our support," Becker said.  "Our police cadets share the dream of the hospital's founder, the late Danny Thomas, that 'no child should have to die of cancer or other catastrophic diseases,'" he said.

Since the hospital opened in 1962, 147 children and families from South Carolina have received treatment from St. Jude. Currently, 40 children from South Carolina are receiving treatment from St. Jude.
