Power Outage Closes Naval Health Clinic Until Wed.

Goose Creek facility suffers "catastrophic power outage."

Weekend storms have wiped out power at the Naval Health Clinic Charleston. The facility suffered a "catastrophic power outage" that will keep the main clinic and the dental clinic closed until Wednesday.

Maintenance crews continue to assess and repair this substantial disruption of power and phone service, according to a statement.

"We implemented our normal emergency procedures when this event occurred," said Lt. Cmdr. Rich Gilliard, director for administration for the clinic. "Because we plan and practice for unfortunate circumstances such as this, we were able to quickly roll out a well-defined response plan to assure the safety of our patients."
