The City of Goose Creek will have an election this year, with at least four candidates already filed to run for three seats.

The 2010 municipal elections were cancelled due to the lack of challengers for the sitting council members and Mayor Michael Heitzler.

But there are more than enough names on the ballot this year to warrant an election. Incumbents Sal Gandolfo and John McCants have already filed for the race. Incumbent Jerry Tekac tells Patch that he is in the process of filing and will submit the final paperwork this week.
Two other candidates have also filed, Realtor Frederick Grisham and Franklin Moore Jr., a member of the Goose Creek Planning Commission.
