Taylor Grace Calcamuggio is the newest Reading Star to appear on Good Morning Marrington, MNE’s daily morning news show. As part of the school’s “Readers As Leaders” Program, Kindergarten student Taylor Calcamuggio read a certain number of books. As her special prize she selected to sing on Marrington Morning TV News Show with School Counselor Ann Schuler. She chose as her song, “The Golden Rule Song” which she had learned during Classroom Guidance.
“Readers As Leaders” is the brain child of School Librarian, Mrs. Melissa Simmons who created and implemented the “Readers As Leaders Bingo Program.” During Mrs. Simmons maternity leave, the morning news show has continued to flourish under the direction of BCSD Substitute Teacher of the Year Nominee, Ms. Shannon Flowers! Marrington’s 2013-2014 school theme is “Boosting Learners, Building Leaders.” MNE is proud of all their Reader/Leaders!
