
Release, Lowcountry Chapter of the American Red Cross:
American Red Cross volunteers responded to an emergency call this afternoon to assist three adults and one minor whose Moncks Corner home was destroyed in a fire Friday. Â
The Red Cross provided the family with shelter in a nearby hotel, financial assistance to help replace the food and clothing that was lost in the fire, comfort kits containing personal hygiene items and referrals to Red Cross partner agencies.Â

The Red Cross has assisted 116 individuals affected by disasters, including home fires, in its seven-county region of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties, since July 1 of this year. Members of our community can support local victims of disasters similar to this and enable the Red Cross to assist families like this who are impacted by residential fires by contacting the American Red Cross at 843-764-2323 ext. 368 or by going to LowcountryRedCross.org.
