Body Found Off Hwy. 52

Berkeley deputies investigating morning discovery near railroad tracks.

A body was found at roughly 7:40 this morning near the railroad tracks along Hwy. 52 across the Alcoa plant.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Dan Moon said investigators are still on the scene, as of 9 a.m. Because of the proximity to the tracks, investigators think it may have been a suicide.

There have been two deaths on nearby railroad tracks in the last five weeks. A 53-year-old Goose Creek woman was on May 17. An unidentified man was allegedly when he was struck and died of an apparent suicide June 10.
