S.C. Lion's Sight and Hearing Conservation Week in Goose Creek

Mayor issues proclamation for Oct. 7-13.

Release, City of Goose Creek:

Goose Creek Mayor Michael Heitzler signed a proclamation declaring the week of Oct. 7-13, 2012 "South Carolina Lion's Sight and Hearing Conservation Week" in Goose Creek. 

The proclamation recognizes the outstanding work done by the Lions and Lionesses of the State of South Carolina in support of sight and hearing conservation and aid to the blind and deaf.

It also voices support for the organization’s annual Candy Days donation drive, which helps to fund eye examinations, eye surgeries and eye glasses for people in need, helps in the purchase of hearing aids for persons in need and supports two camps for blind children in South Carolina.

"I urge everyone to be generous to the Lions Clubs of South Carolina in their annual Candy Days donation drive so they may continue to provide great humanitarian services to the people of South Carolina," said Mayor Heitzler.
