Second Driver Charged in Road Rage Incident

Man cut by knife also responsible in U.S. 52 incident.

A second driver has been charged in the March 19 . The incident included a cut in one driver's hand during the fight.

Rodney Castleberry, 49, of Bonneau was charged soon after the incident with second degree assault and battery, due to the obvious injury of the other driver, 41-year-old Scott Miller of Moncks Corner.

Goose Creek Police held off on charges for Miller while searching for witnesses to the roadway fight. On Thursday, Miller was charged with third degree assault and battery.

According to police, the men arrived at the Goose Creek Police Department on Monday morning to report the incident. Both said that Miller was driving down Hwy. 52 from Monck Corner when Castleberry attempted to pass. Miller allegedly accelerated, preventing Castleberry from passing.

When the two cars got to a red light at the intersection with Old Mt. Holly Road, they reportedly began arguing while still sitting in their cars. At that point, the drivers' stories split.

Castleberry said Miller exited his car first. Miller said it was Castleberry that got out first and began approaching his car. The two men say they pushed each other before Castleberry allegedly pulled the knife. He said he was concerned that Miller had a weapon.

Miller said he was cut in the scuffle. Castleberry claimed that Miller was going to grab the knife when his hand was sliced.
