
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for inland Berkeley County and warns of showers and thunderstorms across the Lowcountry this afternoon and into the evening.
Focuses on areas in and around Moncks Corner, the wind advisory notes gusts could reach as much as 40 to 45 mph. And could begin to pick up as early as 10 a.m. this morning.
The severe thunderstorms are possible between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. They'll be joining the warm temperatures that we have been feeling in the area since early Friday morning.Â

"The main hazards from the strongest thunderstorms that develop will be damaging straight-line wind gusts and isolated tornadoes," the weather service notes.
Residents are cautioned to monitor local weather updates.
