Shooting, Sexual Assault Alleged in Weekend Kidnapping Case
Search continues for suspect in Moncks Corner incident.

One woman was allegedly shot and the other was allegedly sexually assaulted in the Saturday kidnapping case in Moncks Corner, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
The search continues for the suspect, Gary Wayne Woodside Jr., 44, of Bonneau. He’s wanted for attempted murder and could face additional charges. The Sheriff’s Office says he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Woodside was last seen in a green Ford Explorer with red strips and a Washington Redskins license plate on the front. The license plate is South Carolina plate GGA-739. Anyone with information should contact Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office at 843-719-4412 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
According to the initial incident report, two men contacted police Saturday evening when they arrived at the home of the two victims and found the front door kicked in. They also found the back door open and a trail of blood leading from the front door out the back and down the stairs.
The report released does not explain how the two women were later found, nor the circumstance involved in the shooting. The gunshot victim was Crystal Dale Pipkin, 31. The wound was not life threatening, according to BCSO spokesman Dan Moon.
Her roommate’s name is being withheld by law enforcement because of the alleged sexual assault. The unnamed woman told deputies that Woodside is her ex-boyfriend and that he has been upset about their break-up.
