Man Wounded by Guard Now Wanted for Attempted Murder

Investigators: Security guard was defending himself after man hit him with a car.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is releasing more information on the early  morning shooting at a Goose Creek pub as they begin searching for a the victim — now wanted for attempted murder among other charges.

Just before 2 a.m. this morning, Demar Devon Bacon, 25, of 5328 Tidewater Dr. in North Charleston, was shot by a security guard in the parking lot of Karmarui's Sports Bar & Grill at 1230 Red Bank Road.

Investigators say Bacon hit the security guard with his car. The security guard, Monieque Green, then fired his gun through the windshield. Bacon was treated for a chest wound at the Medical University of South Carolina and checked himself out of the hospital.

Bacon is wanted for attempted murder, unlawful carrying of a handgun, unlawful possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of cocaine and cocaine base, possession with intent to distribute marijuana near a school, and possession of Ecstasy.
