The Fifth Grade Students at Marrington Elementary School had the pleasure of hosting their monthly Mini-Career Fair on Thursday, December 19. For the third year in a row, SPAWAR Scientist/STEM Programs Manager, Keisha Williams spoke to students about the importance of science and math as well as careers in science, technology, engineering and math, otherwise known as “STEM.” Students were treated to a question and answer session where they learned that engineers working for SPAWAR use technology to design systems to solve problems and keep our military out of harm’s way. A highlight of the presentation was when students were given the opportunity to mobilize a robot using an iPad.
