SPCA Seeks Donations for Lucky's Medical Bills

Chain and infected tissue around the dog's neck had to be surgically removed.

The Doc Williams SPCA is seeking donations to go toward the medical bills of a 4-year-old brown pit mix that had a chain embedded in his neck.

Lucky was found last week in the Liberty Hall neighborhood after apparently breaking free from whatever he had been tied to. The chain around his neck was so tight that it had worked into his skin, causing an infection.

The chain and damaged tissue was surgically removed by the SPCA veterinarian, according to the SPCA. Lucky is expected to recover.
