St. Patrick's Day Event Calendar

There's a lot going on in the Lowcountry this weekend for St. Patrick's Day. We've collected some of the local events as well as some of the regional happenings that you may want to check out.

First, a few St. Patrick's Day headlines:

Events In Town:

• TJ's Beef and Brew: Live music from 5 p.m. until after midnight from Lamar Hood and Jefferson Coker.Dress in Best Green or Irish Attire for a special giveaway.Irish Entrées include shepherd's pie, corned beef and cabbage and Guinness beef stew. Irish drink specials all day.
• Immaculate Conception Church: St. Patrick’s Day ceili from 6:30-9 p.m. March 17 at Immaculate Conception Church community center, 510 St. James Ave. Dinner and entertainment by Glor na Daire Academy of Irish Dance. Advance tickets: $12, $6 for children. At the door: $15, $8 for children. Call Jim Kelly at 843-574-3004.
• Sapphire's: St. Patrick's Day party with music from Chris Sullivan beginning at 9 p.m.

• Catch the Leprechaun 5K:Run/walk event at 6:30 p.m., Thurs., March 15, at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park, 99 Harry M Hallman Jr. Blvd. Includes a post race party with live music, a pot of gold for the winners and prizes for everyone who finishes before the Leprechaun. Proceeds benefit Pattison's Academy. $30.
• St. Patrick's Day Block Party, Madra Rua, Park Circle: Begins at 10 a.m. at Madra Rua, followed by the St. Patrick's Day Parade at noon, beginning at Park Circle. 9th annual St. Patrick's Day Block Party from noon to 8 p.m. on East Montague Avenue. Two stages and eight bands. Jump castles, face painting, mechanical bull rides and Irish trivia. No outside coolers.
• Charleston St. Patrick's Day Parade: Route from Radcliff to St. Phillip to King to Broad from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• Hibernian Society St. Patrick's Day Parade: 211th annual celebration at 10:45 a.m. with brief parade for members from Lodge Alley Inn, north on East Bay Street, west on North Market St., and then south on Meeting Street to Hibernian Hall. Parade will include pope band, antique cars and a promenade of members.
• : This Heritage Square block party begins at noon on E 5th North Street. Food trucks from Taco Boy, Jacks Cosmic Dogs, Pot Kettle Black, Zahn Pizza and B Gourmet will be bringing the Irish fare. Tidal Jive and Gracious Day will perform alternative funk and contemporary country, respectively. Proceeds benefit The Palmetto House.
• Madra Rua, Summerville: Drink specials and corned beef and cabbage all day.
