Stolen Guns Confiscated in Undercover Bust

Sheriff's Office arrests suspects in Goose Creek Hardee's parking lot.

The Berkeley County Sheriff Office made three arrests and confiscated several stolen weapons in an undercover bust in downtown Goose Creek on Thursday.

Two of the suspects are still being held at the Berkeley County Detention Center. A third posted bond and has been released.

While investigating a string of burglaries in the northern part of the county where firearms were stolen, deputies determined that one of the suspects arrested Thursday, 26-year-old Eddie Casey Jay Gaskins of Cordesville, was trying to sell stolen firearms.

In cooperation with the Goose Creek Police Department, an undercover investigator with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office organized a "purchase" of the guns in the parking lot of the Hardee's on Goose Creek Boulevard on Thursday afternoon.

Gaskins and two others in the car were arrested. Gaskins is being held on a $10,000 bond for receiving stolen goods, along with Mark Patrick Williams, 22, of Bonneau. Meghan Marie Keller, 26, of Moncks Corner posted bond for unspecified charges and was released.

Gaskins is also being held for unrelated charges of assault and battery.

"Several" guns were confiscated, according to Moon, but an exact number won't be released because of the ongoing investigation. Other charges are possible as the investigation continues, Moon said.
