Stormwater Plan, Hanahan Library on County Council Agenda
It'll be a first vote on creating a stormwater program and a discussion on a new library site.

There is a lot on the agenda this week at Berkeley County Council for Goose Creek and Hanahan residents to keep their eyes on. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the county’s administration building at 1003 Highway 52 in Moncks Corner.
First, the Finance Committee will discuss purchasing land for a new Hanahan Library. The county has been negotiating with the Charleston Water System for land on Highland Park Road near the utility’s facility.
Up for a final vote in the County Council meeting: Rezoning of 2 acres at 679 Treeland Drive. The lot fronts Interstate 26 just north of College Park Road. The request would shift the use from multi-family residential or office space to commercial use. Â

The council will also consider initial approval for a stormwater management program that would initiate a fee for property owners, with the revenue going toward ditch improvements and other storm and flood water controls.
Parks of Berkeley, the 4,500-acre development planned up Highway 176 near Cane Bay, will be asking the council for an amendment to its plan. The large development is expected to include a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial lots.
