Stratford's Stackley Leading 2012 S.C. Shrine Bowl Team

Coaches announced Thursday for all-star game.

Stratford High football coach and athletic director Ray Stackley will be the head coach for South Carolina's 2012 team in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolina's.

The popular all-star game between North Carolina and South Carolina is part of a beneift for the Shriner Hospital for Children. The 76th annual Shrine Bowl will be played Dec. 15 at Wofford College's Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg. 

Bowl athletic director Ron Long announced the coaching line-up Thursday, which also includes Stratford coach Tony Smith.

The rest of the coaching staff includes Wade Cooper of Blue Ridge, Don Frost of Christ Church, Mike Wells of Buford and Bill Harvey of Newberry.

Stackley will likely have a some local players in the line-up as well. The 2011 team included two of Goose Creek High's top talents, T.J. Burrell and Virgil Smalls, as well as Cane Bay High's David Bryant.

The Stratford Knights were 9-4 last fall, making it to the quarterfinals in post-season play.
