Stratford Student Finishes Strong at Junior Olympics
TJ Deveaux places second in the javelin throw, also shows strength in hammer and discus throws.

While the world focuses this week on the track and field events in London, Stratford student Alvin "TJ" Deveaux has already brought home a medal from the US Track and Field Junior Olympics, recently held in Baltimore.
Deveaux placed second in his age group for javelin throws, with 49.94 m. He also placed sixth in the hammer throw and in the discus throw. Each field included more than 25 participants.

WCBD News 2 spoke with TJ, a rising sophomore, about his success at the Junior Olympics.
"It feels really good to know that I came in second in the nation in my age group," Deveaux said. "I wasn't really surprised because I worked very hard when I was in training."
