Strong Storms Expected Wed. Afternoon

Update, 11:13 a.m.: The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement on severe weather possible this afternoon.

According to the NWS, the risk will be greatest west of Moncks Corner. The risk will spread east to the coast into the late afternoon and early evening.

Wet weather is expected to roll into the area Wednesday afternoon, with the National Weather Service warning of possible severe storms with large hail and damaging winds.

The worst of the weather should come between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., according to the NWS. The forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms to continue into the night. Sunny skies should return Thursday.
