Suspect Allegedly Pistol Whips Infant

Goose Creek Police investigating armed robbery outside Dollar General.

A man allegedly pistol whipped an 11-month-old child during a private sale gone wrong 8 p.m. Monday outside the Dollar General on North Goose Creek Boulevard, according to Goose Creek Police.

The injured child has since been released to his mother, after being transported to MUSC for emergency care. 

Two men had met with two women and a child at the parking lot regarding the private sale of an Apple i-Pad, according to the incident report. Without the transaction going through, one of the men allegedly robbed the women at gunpoint. When the mother of the infant only gave the man $10, he allegedly took the pistol and hit the infant twice in the head, according to the report.

Patch has withheld the suspects' names until charges or warrants are filed. 

Edited 3:55 p.m. March 26 to correct the name of the location. The location was originally identified as the Family Dollar. However, it has been confirmed that the location was actually the Dollar General.
