Everyone has budgets on the mind this week as the state heads into the 2011-12 fiscal year.
The Berkeley County Council will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the Berkeley County Building, 1003 Highway 52 in Moncks Corner. The council will take up the 2011-12 budget. The council will also consider final approval to rezone six acres of Diplomat Lane near College Park Road from manufactured residential to general commercial.
The Board of Directors of the Crowfield Homeowners Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Planters Walk clubhouse. All homeowners are invited.
The Berkeley County Board of Education is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the board room at 231 East Main St. in Moncks Corner.
The Hanahan City Council will hold a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to consider the city’s 2011-12 budget. The council will meet at City Hall, 1255 Yeamans Hall Road.
In Columbia, the legislature will be putting the finishing touches on the budget, including consideration of Gov. Nikki Haley’s budget vetoes. Meanwhile, the state Senate will work on redrawing the state’s Congressional districts. The 2010 U.S. Census led to a new seventh district that looks poised to be centered in Horry County.
