Shaun Marcum, Tuesday's scheduled starter, was scratched because of elbow tightness, and the team didn't want to lean on a bullpen that threw 6 2/3 innings Sunday in a 15-inning loss at Minnesota. Thornburg had been slated to pitch in the Southern League All-Star Game on Tuesday, the Brewers' website reported.
“We’ll have somebody here, we’ll make a (roster) move (Tuesday) to be able to do that,” Brewers manager Ron Roenicke told reporters before Monday's game.

The Brewers drafted Thornburg in 2010. He's got an 8-1 record this season.
