Threat Locks Down Three Moncks Corner Schools

Berkeley High School, St. Johns Christian Academy and the Berkeley County Alternative School were placed on lockdown Friday morning due to a threat at Berkeley High regarding someone possibly bringing a weapon to the school.

Capt. Mark Murray with the Moncks Corner Police Department said law enforcement was treating the tip as a rumor.

"Whether it's true or not, we don't know," he said. "We're just trying to make sure everything's fine."

The lockdown ended before noon.
