Three Drug Trafficking Arrests in Berkeley

Drug Enforcement Unit busts include College Park Road traffic stop, Goose Creek home.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office announced Friday that it had made three arrests in relation to Berkeley County drug activity. 

Christopher Hayes, 29, of 120 South Cranford Road, Goose Creek, was arrested Jan. 6. Hayes was charged with trafficking heroin and unlawful possession of prescription drugs.

Drug Enforcement Unit agents were responding to complaints of drug activity at the home, where they allegedly found drug paraphernalia and 5.2 grams of a substance that tested positive for heroin.

On Thursday, Jan. 19, deputies on College Park Road stopped Edmond Franklin, 20, of 5446 Marie St., North Charleston. After a search of the vehicle and Franklin, he was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, unlawful carrying of a pistol and possesion of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

The Sheriff's Office also announced the arrest of Joseph Coltharp, 43, of 923 Boroughton Road, Moncks Corner, for trafficking methamphetamine.
