Tim Scott Bags Groceries in Moncks Corner
Congressman's latest stop in "Talkin' Shop" series.
U.S. Rep. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) put on a Piggly Wiggly T-shirt and bagged groceries in Moncks Corner early Friday.
It was the latest stop in the first-term congressman's "Talkin' Shop with Tim" series. For this stop, he highlighted U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations and their impact on grocery and convenience stores — particularly, new label and menu requirements. Â
"It's how may calories are in your food," Scott told ABC News 4. "And, the challenge is that it's $4,000 per location, and that goes into the cost of groceries."
