Psalm 146:2,3,4,5,6,8
I will praise the LORD while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation. Who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them; Who keeps faith forever; Who gives food to the hungry. The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; The LORD raises up those who are bowed down.
Proverbs 16:7

Therefore, beloved, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless.
God is huge on “peace.” He says, “Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9). Jesus is often called the “Prince of Peace.” And a really key strategy in life is: “If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.” (Romans 12:18). But why is God so big on peace? You may think it’s because He wants all His “children” to get along and walk in love because then the world would be such a better place and everyone would be so much happier. That’s the simple answer and the obvious answer. However, that particular answer might not give you a lot of specific help, guidance, and comfort today, especially if your heart is hurting. But the really neat thing about God is that He gives strategies that benefit everyone, but then breaks it down to give you a plan to help this very moment. The best strategy for calming your spirit in any situation is to continually look to God, in other words: “The God Strategy.” Let God handle whatever is on your heart. Tell everyone that you are using the “God Strategy.” It will encourage them, and make you feel better, even as you say it! God promises to give you food for your soul, so you will have the strength to go where you must go. He will open your eyes so you can clearly see what it is you should do. Don’t put your faith in a person to fix a situation or spend your time wishing something or someone would change. It is only God that has the best solutions. It is only God who can make everything better. And this brings us back to why He is so big on peace. Pursuing peace in all aspects of your life is the one thing that you can control. No matter what or who is in your life, you can choose to continually work on having a peaceful spirit. This day, say right out loud, “I am going to be found be ‘in peace’.” And as you speak the words, you will release your faith, from your heart to your mouth and it will make you feel stronger and more peaceful, just by saying them. As you diligently strive to pursue peace with the people and events in your life, God will “bless” you, which is “Bible-speak” for soothing your heart, answering your prayers and granting you the peace that you long for. God…the best deal in the universe!
