Psalms 90:12,14
So teach us to number our days, that we may present to Thee a heart of wisdom. O satisfy us in the morning with Thy lovingkindness, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Romans 1:11,12

For I long to see you in order that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established; that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other's faith, both yours and mine.

God is love.
“Teach us to number our days.” That’s what the psalm “says.” But what does that actually mean? It simply means to be mindful and remember that you only have so many days left and you never know which one will be your last. “Teach us to number our days,” isn’t a line meant to scare you. It is a strategy designed to encourage you to make the most of each moment and every conversation you have. The “numbering your days” strategy encourages you to let go of the frivolous things in life that spin you up but don’t really matter. “Numbering your days” frees you to concentrate on what is really important, on the things that would be most pleasing to God. If you lived every day as if you only had a limited number of days left, would it really matter that someone was doing something in a way that didn’t suite you? Would you continue to worry so much or try so hard to change someone who never wanted to be “changed” anyway? Probably not. Probably you would spend more time being kind to the people that were most important to you and trying to share every bit of wisdom you had so that they would know any little thing that might prove helpful in the future. And most of all, as you live your life, numbering your days with a heightened, poignant sense of awareness of how precious and fleeting each day really is, you would spend your time telling those who are most precious to you how much you love them, because at the end of the day, it’s all about love. The memory of love which you instill in another’s heart is all that really matters when you are gone. As you share love, you share God and the very best part of yourself…even when it’s hard, and the day isn’t your favorite. So today, begin the “number your days” strategy. It will change how you speak to each person you encounter and allow you to clearly see through life’s trickiest thunderstorms, to the only thing that is important….sharing God…sharing Love.
