To Remain At Peace, Stay In Your Light-Shining Car And Don’t Throw The Pearls Of Your Spirit Into The Darkness

Matthew 7:6,12-20
"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.  Therefore, however you want people to treat you, so treat them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.  Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit; but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits.”

Galatians 5:15
For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the [statement], "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

When you read the Bible it all seems so simple.  What God wants you to do is to treat other people the way you want to be treated.  The other little secret of success that would make your life a lot smoother is to make sure that all the fruit on your tree is good.  Your “fruits” are your actions, what you say and what you do.  They are the outward manifestations of your heart.  That just means if you have a mean and hateful heart, your actions towards others won’t be so very nice and thus your “fruit” will be rotten.  But if it is all so simple, why aren’t we all treating others the way we would want to be treated and bearing only good fruit?  What takes you “off task?”  Who steals your spirit?  When your mind is full of someone, some task, or some occurrence in your life that keeps you from bearing good fruit and doing the golden rule, you have gotten on the wrong train car.  In essence you have thrown the pearls of your spirit before swine, and that pig is going to turn around and devour you.  God doesn’t tell you these simple truths of loving your neighbor and bearing good fruit to be harsh.  He tells you this so that your behavior is excellent and as a result people will treat you better and you will make the sorts of decisions that will benefit yourself and the people in your world.  When someone or some situation enters your life and you find yourself re-routed, agitated, anxious, and not treating others the way God would want you to, get back to basics.  Stay on your train, in your light-shining car.  In all your relationships, treat others the way you want to be treated and strive to produce fruits of kindness, wisdom, and love.  You and the grateful people in your world will be happier and as an added bonus, God will direct your journey so you will end up exactly where you need to be.
