Update: Storm Tears Through Berkeley County

Severe thunderstorms rattle region.

Update, 9:55 p.m.: The Post and Courier is reporting that a funnel cloud passed through the area, but didn't touch down. There were also reports of trees down in Moncks Corner and high winds in Pineville. Read more at The Post and Courier.

Original Report: The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for east central Berkeley County until 9 p.m.

Radar showed a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado 8 miles from Jamestown. 

The NWS warns to take shelter as the thunderstorms approach and to report hail and downed trees, limbs and power lines to the Charleston NWS at 888-383-2024 "when it is safe to do so."
