Traffic Stop Leads to Desertion Arrest
Officer finds felony warrant in background check.

A Goose Creek Police officer making a routine traffic stop Monday arrested a Lexington woman wanted for desertion by the U.S. Army.
Jennifer Lynn Wyckoff, 27, was still being held Tuesday at the Hill Finklea Detention Center awaiting transfer to Fort Jackson.
She was the passenger Monday in a Nissan Xterra pulled over at 12:15 p.m. on Hwy. 52 for an expired license plate.

Prompted to pull over, the driver said she knew the tags were expired and had received a citation from Richland County Sheriff's Office less than a week ago. She also had a suspended drivers license.
The officer noted that Wyckoff appeared nervous. A check through the National Crime Information Center revealed a felony warrant with the Army for desertion.
