Twilight Marathons and Midnight Screenings

Lowcountry theaters prepare for first part of series finale.

It doesn't have the following of a certain bespectacled wizard, but the vampires and wolves of the Twilight saga are expected to bring out crowds of movie-goers Thursday night for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1.

Breaking Dawn was the final book in Stephenie Meyer's popular romance saga about teen monsters.

The in West Ashley will be running a Twilight marathon beginning at 4 p.m. with the original film, leading up to the midnight premiere of the latest chapter. There are still plenty of seats available for the marathon, according to the theater, but they'll likely start selling quick Thursday afternoon.

In typical fashion, in Mount Pleasant is offering an outdoor midnight showing of the latest installment. Gates open at 8 p.m.

Several other theaters are ready to pack Twilight fans in for the midnight premiere.

on Ladson Road plans to show the film on four screens. Three of the four are sold out, but the theater is prepared to add screens, if necessary. in North Charleston also said that it will be ready to use as many screens as necessary to meet demand.

Midnight showings are also available at Regal Cinemas Azalea Square Stadium 16 in Summerville and in Mount Pleasant.
