Two Petition Candidates File in District 15 Race
Campaigns await state certification before they're on the ballot.

There will be a race, after all, in the new S.C. House District 15.
Three party earlier this year, leaving no candidate for the new district, which includes portions of Hanahan, Goose Creek, Pimlico and North Charleston.
Two of those candidates — Marian Redish and Samuel Rivers Jr. collected more than the 786 signatures needed to file as petition candidates. Their hard work has been submitted to the State Election Commission in Columbia.

The signatures have been sent back to the local election offices in Berkeley and Charleston county to make sure the signators are on the voter roles in the district. Once that's confirmed, the SEC will make the final determination on whether the candidates qualify for the ballot.
