Veteran's Day Events Thursday and Friday

Local schools and public officials are providing opportunities to recognize the sacrifice and service of our veterans this week.

Berkeley County Schools will be closed on Friday in recognition of Veteran's Day. Several of our local schools will be hosting commemorative functions on Thursday. Service members are encouraged to attend all events.

Marrington Middle School on Joint Base Charleston will hold its Veteran's Day observance, titled "Land of the Free Because of the Brave," at 2:15 p.m. Thursday.

Hanahan High School at will host its Veteran's Day program at 6 p.m Thursday at 6015 Murray Drive.

And Goose Creek High School and Sedgefield Middle School will host their Veteran's Day concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at 1137 Red Bank Road.

On Friday, the City of Hanahan will be hosting a at 11 a.m. in front of City Hall at 1255 Yeamans Hall Road.

Berkeley County offices and the Berkeley County Library System will be closed on Nov. 11, as well as the offices of the City of Hanahan. Goose Creek offices will be open.
