Week Ahead: Stormwater Fees, Regional Plans, and Bachmann

Meetings and events we're watching this week.

Berkeley County Council will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the Council Chambers at 1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner. A public hearing and a vote are expected on the proposed stormwater fee and stormwater management program. Expect some resident opposition, but county officials say they'll be forced to spend the money regardless to fulfill federal water safety requirements.

The Berkeley County Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the boardroom at 107 East Main St., Moncks Corner. The board will review ACT results, consider some custodial purchases, and discuss attendance appeals and personnel in executive session.

The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments will host the Our Region, Our Plan forum from 5:30-9 p.m. Tuesday at Trident Technical College's Complex for Economic Development in North Charleston. The COG will present four different development plans for the area and request input.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) will be the latest guest for a Presidential Primary Town Hall series hosted by Rep. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Trident Technical College campus in North Charleston.
