Week in Review: Collisions, Robberies, and Haley's Grades

What we were following this week.

Collisions started the week off. The Hanahan High School community was shocked to learn student Blade Scott Kornahrens was in last Saturday. Kornahrens was in critical condition at MUSC early in the week, but had improved to good condition by Friday. The other drive, Thomas Mack, 19, of Cross, died at the scene.

Meanwhile, a Summerville man and his daughter were . The other driver, Isabel Detzler, 42, of Charleston, was charged with driving too fast for the road conditions.

The City of Goose Creek's Planning Commission Tuesday of the city's Crowfield Golf and Country Club, paving the way for the City Council to consider the rezoning this week to "Conservation Open Space."

In political news, the S.C. GOP announced that Republicans will be for the state's Presidential Preference Primary. The date was moved up to get out in front of Florida's primary contest. Also this week, Gov. Nikki Haley raised some eyebrows in Berkeley County with her assessment of Sen. Larry Grooms. The Bonneau Republican is one of the more conservative in the legislature, but for opposing two of her agenda items.

The big crime news this week was Wednesday of the Advance America Cash Advance on St. James Avenue. In other crime news, officers approached a stolen car Wednesday to and a man after driving his truck into a house off College Park Road early Thursday morning.
