Weekend Five: Ogres, Dad's Day fishing, and The Dude
A long-haired musical duo and a Crowfield concert round out the offerings this weekend.
Here are five events on our radar this weekend. Take a look at the complete calendar for more, or add your own event.
Friday

The City of Goose Creek continues its Sounds of Summer concert series. The free event includes food vendors. Bring a blanket or a chair. Don't bring your dog.

Saturday
Father's Day Fishing Rodeo
9 a.m. at the interpretive center, Old Santee Canal Park, 900 Stony Landing Road, Moncks Corner
Dads and their kids can grab their fishing poles and do Father's Day Andy Griffith-style. The park will be handing out prizes for the biggest fish pulled from Biggin Creek. Bring your own fishing pole and they'll provide the catch. $3 per person.
7:30 p.m. at the city pool, Crowfield Golf and Country Club, 300 Hamlet Circle
Goose Creek is showing the fourth and final film in the Shrek series as part of a Dive-In movie night. The 2010 film was good enough to make us forget the really bad Shrek the Third. We'll give Forever After three-and-a-half pool noodles. Swim time begins at 7:30 p.m. and the movie starts after the sun goes down, at about 8:45 p.m. It's a free event for all city residents, but tickets are required. They're available at the Goose Creek Community Center.
Sunday
Lowcountry Big Lebowski Celebration
6 p.m. at Madra Rua Irish Pub, 1034 E. Montague Ave., North Charleston
Rocky Horror fans may pack movie theaters for tribute nights, but fans of "The Dude" pack Madra Rua, a North Charleston Pub. They're showing The Big Lebowski (of course) along with a costume contest, trivia game, and white Russian drink specials. The movie begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are available at the pub. $10 for indoor seating and $5 for patio seating.
