What To Do So The “House” Of Your Spirit Doesn’t Fall

Isaiah 41:10,21

“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Present your case," the LORD says. "Bring forward your strong arguments, Let them bring forth and declare to us what is going to take place; As for the former events, declare what they were, That we may consider them, and know their outcome.”

Matthew 7:24,25

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock. "And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock.

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you. Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless.  To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity.

God doesn’t want you to be fearful or uncertain, yet He knows that life is tricky. Every day can’t be sunshine and inevitably storms will roll in that threaten to blow away your peace.  And so rather than just sending you good wishes for a happy life, God offers three strategies for making sure your “house” doesn’t blow away, no matter how strong the storm.  First, God says not to be fearful because He promises to never leave you.  He is the one who created everything.  He can calm any storm that comes your way.  You may not know when the sun is going to come out, but be assured that if you give God the problem, He has it covered….in His time.  And that is the tricky part of the equation: God’s time isn’t like our time, but it is the perfect time.  Your solution will come when it is supposed to come. Keep reminding yourself of that, because sometimes the waves are high.  Secondly, as you wait for the sun to come out, give everything your best shot.  God says that if you have an issue with someone, pray about it, ask for the words, then present your best case.  Let them know how things were in the past, but remind them that this is a new day and you are starting over. Then let God control the outcome.  And finally, in all things, keep your behavior excellent.  No matter what the weather, your actions are the one thing that you can control and the way that people will judge you.  Choose to glorify God by encouraging those around you when their storms are passing through.  Serve as an example of faith  by letting others know that the sun will come out because God promises that when the floods in your life come, but you will not fall, because your “house” is built on God, the solid Rock.  You will not fall.
